Professor Firas R. Alani MD is a Professor in Cardiovascular Medicine from Central Michigan University, USA since April 2019. He joined the American Hospital in September 2019. Dr. Alani comes with a 15-year US experience in the field of Cardiology. He is currently the Medical Director of the Division of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Cathlab, and He is also Chief Academic Officer and Chairman of American Hospital Academic Institute at American Hospital Dubai. Prof. Firas Alani completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship, Interventional Cardiology Fellowship and Endovascular Therapy Fellowship at the Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, and Fellowship in Advanced Structural Heart Disease at the Henry Ford Hospital. Prof. Firas Alani obtained American Board Certifications in 6 different medical disciplines which include American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Interventions. Prof. Dr. Firas Alani received several awards for excellence in teaching of medical residents and medical students. Prof. Dr. Firas Alani spent several years of his career in the field of Clinical Research. He was the primary Principal Investigator on more than 20 International Clinical Trials and has published more than 40 articles in well-respected peer-review medical journals. Prof. Dr. Firas Alani, has special interest in Complex Coronary Artery Disease Interventions, Structural Heart Disease including Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), Transcutaneous Mitral Valve Implantation (TMVI), Left Atrial Appendage Closure - WATCHMAN Procedure, Carotid Artery Stenting.
