Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Smer spent 10 years in the United States as a Consultant Cardiologist in well-stablished academic institutions and also held the role of Associate Program Director for the Cardiovascular Fellowship Training Program at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, US. Dr. Aiman holds multiple certifications from the American Board, including internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. His research interests encompass quality improvement and cardiovascular diseases, with a focus on atrial fibrillation, the impact of sleep apnea on heart disease, and 3D echocardiography. He has actively participated in numerous international multicenter trials and boasts a portfolio of over 100 publications and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals.
